ROTTEN TO THE CORE WITH NO VALUES - The Inconvenient TRUTH of Debbie Williams

The Inconvenient TRUTH of Debbie Williams-

By: Ann Mahomes- When it comes to Debbie Williams talking about "core values" she is nothing but lies!  She is rotten to the core.  Apparently this is going to become a series of articles exposing the TRUTH about a PROVEN LIAR.  The comments in black are verbatim copy of her diatribe she posts on social media, she lies about never goin on.    The portions in RED are the response and exposure of the LIES:

Debbie Williams

I served as the Village Clerk for 8 years and currently in my second year as Trustee. I have attended Village board meetings for over 30 years and have been a Community Advocate from day one.

Well Debbie was Village Clerk for 8 long years, and if attending village board meetings made one an expert on Village business, then ex-resident, Rose Langston would have been a genius!   Community Advocate?  Not at all.  Debbie has been more of a community rabble rouser; self-serving advocate.  If it was "good for her" she jumped on the band wagon.

Sauk Village is my home. Just like you want what’s best for your home and the people in it, I want what’s best for Sauk Village and the residents. What I’ve seen through the years is a steady decline in community involvement, lack of stability and accountability in the finance department and year after year of politic shenanigans that continue to divide our community.

Yes, Sauk Village “is her home”; a home where she has paid $0 in property taxes since 2017 after she left office.  That’s right, when you’re talking “steady decline” in the community, one need only look at one’s home. No improvements made to that structure in over 20 years.  So, yes, Debbie, there has been a “steady decline” of the community and it starts with your house and your fellow Trustee Sherry Jasinski who had been in charge of Code Enforcement for the last 20 years.  But that’s another story!   So, when it comes to finances, Debbie is quick to criticize others, but let’s not look at this same Village official whose “home” has in foreclosure and has filed bankruptcy multiple times all while being an elected official.  And let’s not forget that you have been proven of swindling money from a senior citizen who currently has a lien on your “home” to this day waiting to get her money back.  Yeah, I guess you could say you’ve done some “shenanigans” along the way.

My goal is to restore the core values that have been ignored especially throughout the past few years. We have not had an active Parks and Recreation Committee for the past three years. We lost our Sauk Village Sports Association because of politics years ago and now we have let our ball fields go entirely. Our youth have been lost in the shuffle. They should be a priority- not a casualty.

When she talks about “restoring core values” I think she really needs to start restoring core values at her own home first!  How about pay the aforementioned senior citizen you swindled for starters?  When you talk about the destruction of the Parks and Recreation Committee, let us remind you of the political maelstrom you brought to Sauk Village in 2008 and when you and your political “team” won in 2009, one of the your team’s first act was to remove then Trustee Derrick Burgess who was Chair over the Park’s and Recreation Committee and impose your running mate as chair of that committee.  Facts are stubborn things Debbie!  You and your political party destroyed Sauk Village’s time-honored Parks and Recreation Committee and its programs.   Residents lost faith in the Village’s ability to put forth a viable program and had to threaten legal action against the administration just to recover their pre-paid fees. This has been proven with 3 subsequent trustees, Robert Chavez, Robert Poskin and Kelvin Jones who tried valiantly to restore community confidence in the program and the safety of their monies.  Not once did you or your elected relative ever offer to help the prior two administrations of which you were actively involved.  Nor have you, out of the last two budgets, been an advocate to allocate funds to this “lost” tradition.  So the “casualty” of Sauk Village youth as you call it, falls squarely on you!  If you would have taken time during your 2-year hiatus from politics, you could have read that Mayor Burgess included plans for the restoration of youth programs in both his Strategic Plan and the Comprehensive Plan. AGAIN, Debbie, you are  a day late and about $1.9 million dollars short!

You "fell into office" in 2019 and did nothing to advance the Parks and Recreation Committee despite the fact you had 4 others willing to connive with you to "make it rain" and drain the Village's coffers.  All you have done since becoming a Trustee is SHUT DOWN PROGRESS in Sauk Village.  If that's "restoring core values" then people are crazy.

The board has approved plans that are aggressively addressing inoperable fire hydrants and dead trees which have been ignored for way too long.

Really Debbie!  Remember TRAVELGATE when you LIED about spending your own money for a "personal trip".  Yeah you're such a LIAR!  Where is this imaginary “PLAN”?  You have control of the Board and have such capable Trustees and a; correct that, 2 Village  Administrators at your beck and call and amongst you all, there is no official “plan” available.  The only official plan presented was the one presented by Mayor Burgess that you and the Fanatical Five Trustees REJECTED for your own small reasons.  All you do and all you’ve ever done is piss away money on failed initiatives. You and your trustees authored no “PLAN” in writing nor published it for public comment or discussed.  Where is this fake plan?

I intend to continue to address those issues as well as other issues that impact our community such as vacant, abandoned homes and foreclosed properties.  Identify the owners of those properties. Find ways to encourage homeownership in Sauk Village through education and programming that would open doors for people that never thought they could be a homeowner.

You’ve had 8 long years sitting doing nothing as Clerk and now in 2 years as “trustee”, you still have not addressed anything.  Let’s take these one by one:

·         Vacant, abandoned and foreclosed properties.  Are you referring to yours first?  I digress.   Well funny thing is that Mayor Burgess and the Trustees that worked with him from 2017-2019 already addressed this within the Strategic Plan for Progress.  Read it, Debbie!

·         Encourage Home Ownership- Again, Read the plan Debbie!  You’re a Johnny Come Lately on this too..  You cannot not even begin to comprehend how to educate anyone on home ownership without first understanding it yourself.  You were in foreclosure not once but twice; all public documents, by the way!  Taking advice on home ownership from you is like taking marriage advice from someone divorced twice.

In my opinion- Sauk Village is broken. We have been unable to heal from one election to another. It’s politics 24/7 365 days a year. The various social media pages and blogs are very misleading and one sided. I sincerely hope that this time the residents can be encouraged to get to know the candidates and review their resume just like would if they were in the position of hiring them for a very important position in a Fortune 500 firm.  Because that is what they are doing by casting a vote for municipal leaders.

Here we go!  Now she’s going to “opine”.  Well welcome to reality for the first time since 2009.  In 2009 it was not broken “in her opinion” then it was broken in 2010.  Then Sauk Village was “Great Again” in 2013 after she got back in with "her mayor" now ex-Mayor David Hanks who berated a Village employee into suing the Village costing taxpayers $300,000 and Debbie sat and said nothing.  Then this “Black Mayor” gets in office in 2017 starts cleaning up the mess in the wake of the previous administrations, starts bringing businesses to Sauk Village and you and your friends start to have kittens that he’s the reason why the Village is “Broken Again”.  There’s a common denominator, again, in all of this, Debbie.  And it’s you!  You’re the one that continues to divide the Village.  You who stated on more than one occasion “I don’t go on Facebook”  “I only post ‘happy birthday’ and then I get off of there”.  Again YOU ARE A PROVEN LIAR!

Our finances are precarious at best. We just completed the 2017-2018 Forensic Audit. The 2018-2019 Annual Village audit has been in process since April of last year and is still not completed. The 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 audits will also be late. We need to focus on the finances and be open and transparent to our residents which is not happening at this time. It's time to stop playing the blame game and let's FIX THIS!

Really Debbie?

·         When during your tenure as Village Clerk did the Village ever had $800,000 in the BANK?  Or when did the Village ever have a $500,000 line of credit during your tenure?  That would be NEVER!  So LIE again and say the Village’s finances are “precarious” is disingenuous at best.

·         The forensic audit conducted that you and your cohorts wasted $40,000 on trying to find dirt on Mayor Burgess turned out to be a big NOTHING BURGER!  It was a huge waste of taxpayer dollars, not that you care, you pay nothing in property taxes, but you are very good at spending other people’s money!

·        You insinuate that the audit’s not being done is in someway Mayor Burgess’ fault when it was because of your bull in a China shop approach to government that caused the delay!  You and the Fanatical Five Trustees pushed for that forensic audit.  Anyone with a financial background would know that no auditing firm will conduct an audit during a forensic audit investigation.  YOU AND YOUR COHORTS CAUSED THE DELAY!    You want to “Stop playing games” when it’s convenient for you.  You want it fixed but use your passive aggressive approach to blame others when in fact all fingers point to you.

We need to engage our residents to participate in more community centered events. We lost our Human Relations Commission, Housing Commission, Parks and Recreation Committee, Beautification Committee and more throughout this past administration. We need to address Fair Housing regulations and form a resident committee to spearhead that endeavor.

·         Many residents are “engaged” but do not want to get involved in YOUR foolishness!  We did not “lose” a Human Relations Commission.   That “commission” nothing more than a gathering of your “inner circle” group of people.

·         The Housing Commission which all resigned in 2017, after the black Mayor was elected was operating illegally and out of the scope of their mandate by the Village.  They were NOT a housing authority.

·         The Parks and Recreation Committee cannot perform the duties of an actual Director who can help facilitate programs.  As Mayor Burgess had in his plan, if you would just read, an actual Parks, Recreation and Youth Services Board is needed to provide direction and remove the political stench of you and your “inner circle”. I mean, just look at the McConathy Public Library District of which you were the President of the Board, what programs did you initiate there?  Where is their resident Committee to spearhead that endeavor?

·         Finally when it comes to “fair housing” matters, you’d be going against all your investor friends and they will not like you or further support your political endeavors for that!   You would not even understand what fair housing is!  In fact that would have been the MANDATE of the Housing Commission, but they were operating rogue under that last “mayer”

My heart is in Sauk Village. I am passionate about bringing the small town feeling back to a community that has let big city politics destroy us.  We need to encourage Unity- not Division, Love- not Hate, Lift each other up instead of tearing each apart.

Debbie says her heart is in Sauk Village, but her wallet and money goes out of town ever chance she gets!  While she was on the Library Board she spent more money in Indiana buying equipment, supplies and party events.  When Debbie and her daughter were having parties at Village Hall they rarely patronized any village businesses, but sure wanted them to donate as she relentlessly begged them for ‘donations’.  Small town feeling, Debbie?  Ask some of the minority residents that moved to this small town in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and ask them if they want to return to the days of old!!!  You and only you, Debbie Williams are solely responsible for bringing in big city politics.  You started this Village’s first political party.  You stated this Village’s first petition challenges.  You, Debbie Williams are all that is wrong with this Village!
